Had an awesome time performing along side these incredible artists yesterday in our “Exploring the Yoruba Tradition” concert. It was an honor to be able to sing Apkwon with one of the great masters, Ernesto “Gato” Gatell.

We met four years ago in Cuba, returned together two years later, and began lessons on how to sing Akpwon a year ago. He has had a profound impact on my life both as an artist and a person and I am thankful to have had, and continue to have, the opportunity to learn from him.

I look forward to the next time we all perform together again!
